That's just cool, Mr Cancilla!
As Flash said "once K&N figures out what were doing, they'll raise the price", or they'll try to start producing it!!
I like my MaxAir, but if I didn't already have it, for the price differance, I would definitly go this way.
Congrats.

I can't wait to get rid of the stock chromed Tupperware dish air box....I wanted an Arlen Ness Big Sucker but I heard they stopped making them...It looks a lot like yours....
How'd ya do it?
go back to the beginning of the thread, Vintageiron, and Cancilla has it pretty well laid out.. I'm not sure how he fastened the bracket to the air box, but I made a small backing plate cut in a half round shape, and put it inside the box and then bolted the bracket to the box with some lock nuts.. then simply mounted the bracket with air box, onto the heads in the original mounting holes..9 inches center to center, with a half inch spacer behind the rear mount to compensate for the cylinder offset..The entire back of the air box is a thick rubber, so it will conform to minor tolerances and does not put any stress on anything..It was right up my alley.. as it shows the engine and is low key..... you won't find a more cost effective air filter, and if you like the look,

Thanks GRAM...I'd be honored to be added to the list.

I can expand the write up I started this thread with and add some additional pics too.

How do I submit it to you when its done?

Go ahead and write it up in Word. You can add the pics in, but also keep them seperate, that way we can use your layout to know where to put them (and still have high quality copies for us to resize).

When you have something put together, I need you to email it to me. I will send my email address via pm.

I would suggest looking over the format for our oil change article on our front page for a guide as to how to assemble it.

and.. Thanks! This is what the Clinic is all about

Mr Cancilla, looks like that name change (and a great, inexpensive idea) is working out for you! Congrats, can't wait to build mine. BB

Does this air filter mod produce the same results as the poorman's BAK?

yea like BB said,, It is the same size as the filter in my hypercharger..but by integrating the chrome top as part of the filter construction, you are able to get the same amount of filtering in a smaller package...
