Musky I found the Mikuni/Dynojet conversion table and I see what you mean a by the numbers between jets don't match. I've called all the local shops around here and none have single jets available any way I can order the Mikuni 170 which is pretty close to the Dynojet 180, whats your thoughts on that? I want to order a couple more items from the same place so shipping won't be much of an expense.

I would get the Mik 170 and the 167.5. Those are the 2 jets that most people find work for them.

I said screw Dyno jet and ordered the mikunis that covered the gap between the Dyno jet#175&190.They are mikunis 165,167.5,170,172.5
and 175. at 2.5 gaps should be able to dial it in better.Dyno jet will never agree that you should use"any" setting but theirs.Sucks

Re:BAK now what ? 4 Years, 3 Months ago
I too just installed a Barons BAK & rejetted. I followed the Tech article posted by Mr Tidy's and I have a question in regard to this. In the tech article, it tells you NOT to reinstall the metal washer (spacer) under the plastic spacer. The diagram in Barons instructions shows that you DO reinstall this washer and use the 4th groove for the needle clip.I followed the Tech atricle and not the Barons instructions. Is this correct, and if it is, won't this affect my PMS setting? In other words where people are recommending a starting point of 3 1/2 turns, will this be different minus the washer? Should I have used the washer? Thanks in advance for any comments.

I would put the washer in. If for no other reason than when people are talking about jet settings it is pretty much a given that you have at least one washer under the spacer. So any advise you would get would be with that in mind. The washer is a half step on the needle. Instead of moving the clip a full groove you can add or subtract a washer to move half a groove. Much better to fine tune things. You can also get thinner washers that would move you 1/4 groove.

I HAVE A QUESTION ON THE WASHERS....

I'VE READ ONE IS A HALF STEP UP I.E. NO WASHER UNDER CLIP/SPACER IS 4 ADD ONE WASHER IS 4.5

I'VE ALSO READ TO ADD TWO WASHERS TO GET SAME EXAMPLE

I HAVE TWO WASHERS SET UP LIKE THIS SPRING - THIN WASHER - CLIP ON 3 - SPACER - THICK WASHER

THICK IS DESCRIBED AS SAME THICKNESS AS THE CLIP AND THE THIN CAME IN THE SPEEDSTAR KIT

I'M TRYING FOR 3.5

If you want 3.5 you need 2 of the stock thickness washers under the spacer. The spacer and 1 washer is the stock setup.

On your stock setup you should have had 2 washers. 1 under the spring and 1 under the spacer. Those 2 washers are both the same thickness. If you have an extra washer from the Speedstar kit put the 2 stock washers under the spacer and the Speedstar washer under the spring.

I think the manly name is nose pickin finger.
