Drive Belt Alignment / Tracking 5 Years, 12 Months ago
The drivebelt on my bike seems to be hugging up against the exhaust side rail on the rear pulley. I am assuming this is a problem with unequal adjustment of the rear wheel. I have fiddled a bit with the exhaust side adjuster and can't seem to make it move.

Question: Does the belt move towards the 'tighter' side of the pulley as it would in a conveyor belt? ie. When looking at the rear of the bike: Do I loosen the exhaust side (move right side axle forward) to make the belt track more left?

The reason I want to look after this is the belt seems to rub against the plastic bits because it is off center./

Thanks,
Chris.

Post edited by: Homer Simpson, at: 2006/06/02 18:51
