I grew up in L.A. and rode the great Highway 1 for the first time at 18 on a CHP Moto Guzzi I bought for $701 dollars. After that I would ride it at least 3-4 times a year up to Frisco. There is a certain overwhelming patriotic feeling while riding over the Golden Gate Bridge. Spending the night in Morro Bay, Big Sur, Carmel.... I've been in Colorado since 78' now but I still talk a lot about the Great 1. My wife and I are planning to ride to Santa Rosa where I can stay with my cousin, cruise the wine country, then down to L.A. on the 1. She's never seen anything like it, and as age rapidly creeps up on me, I need to do this soon or I might never see it again. Did that myself many moons ago while stationed at MCAS El Toro. I know what you mean 'bout getting that tired feeling thebru, need to take care of things while you can.
