I am wondering if you guys wear all your safety gear when riding. I found a website that shows what can happen when you do not or get Stupid on a Bike, They have some graphic pictures so Beware -

AGATT - All Gear All The Time.

Unless I'm tooling around the subdivision going <20mph, I wear it all...

I haven't seen the images at the site you listed, and probably don't want to. I've seen ones like them and I have no plan to end up like those guys. I try to ride safe, keep my bike safe, never drink if I know I'm gonna ride and try not to revert to acting like a 16 year old when I ride. My Roadie makes me feel like a 16 year old again, but I keep the urge to act like one in check by remembering the poor folks (like the folks shown in sites like you listed) who didn't.

Not interested in viewing the injury/death of others , but I too wear a jacket , boots , DOT approved helmet , and gloves at all times when I'm on the road. Listening for noises in the neighborhood , sometimes I ride without a helmet , but otherwise...........BB

I was thinking when I opened the url, that it would be like all the others I have seen, sensationalism and nothing more, but this one is different, I found it informative and quite eduacational, and you don't have to look at any graphic articles if you choose not to..It is sobering to say the least..

Always wear a DOT helmet, gloves, oil resistant boots. Jacket depends on weather. Assuming I am invisible more than ever.

Stay safe!

I keep my bike in good working order..... however, I don't always ride with a jacket on.

Now that the weather is cold here, I wear a Joe Rocket textile jacket with armor as well as the Joe Rocket Ballistic 5.0 overpants, with a heated jacket, heated pants liner and heated gloves. There is no sense in being cold when you are riding in cold weather!

And I ALWAYS wear a DOT approved helmet. Either a full face or 3/4 helmet. Just depends on the weather.....

My son "gears up" everytime he rides... no matter what the weather...

I always wear a DOT approved helmet, shorty most of the time, gloves, riding boots, long pants and much of the time Icon riding pants blue jeans with Kevlar inserts, I do not always wear a jacket, but usually wear at least a long sleeve t-shirt, and glasses. I wear a leather jacket when it is comfortable to do so, but in south Florida the late spring to late fall can be very hot and humid. Jackets are too much especially in stop and go traffic.
My philosphy has always been to dress for the crash not the ride. I would rather sweat than bleed.

Guess I'll be the first to admit to NOT wear enough gear. "Most" of the time I do wear a DOT helmet. Yes......sometimes I go without a helmet when close to home and the weather is nice and yes I know....most accidents happen at slow speeds close to home. I have yet to buy gloves but I plan to this weekend. I plan to buy fingerless gloves which I've heard can stir a whole other debate.

Helmet - "mostly"

gloves - will buy fingerless

Boots - yes

Jeans - yes

glasses - yes

Long sleeves - only when weather requires

jacket - only when weather requires

On a similar note - I'm glad my state does not have helmet laws. Helmet laws suck. It should be a choice to make for anyone old enough to.

My state doesn't have a helmet law either. (Technically you must wear a helmet if you do not have at least $10k of insurance converage, but who's checking?) But, drive a car without a seatbelt and pay a fine. I still find that confusing.

Neither really affect me though; I ride with a helmet and drive with a seatbelt. I feel naked without them.

To each his own.
