I had the lowboys on my old v-star 1100, now I have speedsters on my roadie.
I think that the speedsters are made better: heat shields are long as the entire exhaust, while the lowboy's are only half the length of the pipes. Speedsters have a chamber beetween the two pipes that equalizes pressure, lowboys don't. The speedsters come with a pair of nice final tips (but after just 1 year the chrome is peeling off of them, I'm planning to replace them with self made stainless steel tips). I can't compare the sound because they were on different bikes, but compared to the old staggered cobras that were mounted on my roadie, the speedsters sound mellower and deeper.

iŽll go with the guys with the speedsters over the lowboys.

iŽve fitted both pipes to customers bikes, and in my opinion the extra bucks for the speedsters is well worth it power wise.

not too loud, but a very nice tone around town, and sing nicely when you hit the loud lever

I have the loboy shotguns...the sound is terrific...the bonus is you can get to the transfer case hole without moving the pipes (something to consider with any aftermarket pipes)...my only downside issue is the space between the pipes and the bags is a bit bigger and takes some getting used to

lower your bags....there is a kit.

yeah TMK there are brackets for lowering your bags. here's the link to Geno's brackets:

I installed these on my bike and love em! $65 is a far better deal than $600-$800 for new bigger bags!!
