opinions and advice needed, hard bags 9 Months ago
just got some used hard bags, what is anybodys opinion on the location shown in pics. they are just laying on the stock yammy brackets, and i can modify the brackets to get maybe another inch lower, OR should i get an aftermarket pipe, such as a cobra 2 into one or v&h staggered shortstops, and really lower them down. any info on noise level of these 2 pipes will also be appreciated. sorry, but one more thing, what is a fair asking price for my oem leather bags, with just 800 miles.Thanx in advance,LM

I'd definitely get whatever pipes you're going to go with before I did anything to the height of the bags. As far as the pipes go, I have no experience researching that. My aftermarket pipes kinda fell into my lap and happened to be the look I like.

I have the V & H two into one propipes and love them. It will allow you lower the bags another 2 1/2" or so.

What a coincidence...I went to my mailbox and there were my Geno's brackets waiting on me!! Now comes the fun of putting 'em on.

I generally don't like the looks of the bags too much, but I do like the way Fire Resq has his set up..they are very low and forward which reveals the rear fender and restores that contour..I'd like to see the other side of his bike and see what exhaust he has on it... your bags are similar to his..

sorry to say this but those bags look terrible on your bike. if you want hard bags get the stock yamaha ones they work great and would look a lot better on your bike.
