VegasDave,

Metzler makes both a narrow and a wide white wall tire in the ME880 line. I don't think you can beat the Metzlers for performance and the white walls look great (when clean!) I have the wide white walls.

Howdy, just found this forum yesterday, and I've already gained a lot of info.
I've used the Westley's Bleche-White on my 2004 Roadie Silverado Midnight Star with good results.
The WARNING on the bottle is two fold: First the Acid in the formula can damage the finish on Aluminum rims (Permanent spotting mostly) if its not wiped off promptly with a wet towel.

Second, the acid attacks petroleum products and breaks them down. (If you clean your tires on a Tar driveway, you'll see this first hand.) You don't have to worry about your tire desolving, but your tire has a certain amount of tar imbeded in its tread that Westley's Bleche-White will desolve and this can cause a slick film to remain on the tire until it disipates, or gets washed off.

Thanks for the info! What you're saying makes a lot of sense and pretty much confirms some of the bits and pieces of information I've seen. So your take is that you can use the Bleche-White with care but by all means make sure to use plenty of water to rinse the stuff off after use. Also, don't use on an asphalt driveway!!

Try an SOS pad they work better than whitewall cleaner and a lot less work, It's an old car wash trick.

I have to agree with dano about using the jack for cleaning wheels and tires. A good cleaner to use, Simple Green, an excellent cleaner/degreaser for many a task.

I use Castrol Super Clean and a scrub brush. Keep it off the paint. Works well.
