Thanks, I don't understand why you would have to use a different set of risers for the big johnsons. It says that it tapers down to 1inch at the clamping area

I believe if you can find the 03 and below 2 piece risers you will be okay. The 04 and above use a single riser that is probably to wide.

Last year I put on the star bars with the aeromach 4 up 2 back risers and I still didnt need to change any of the stock lines. I am about 5' 10" and they were about perfect for me if thats the look you want. this year I put on a set of apes so I have the star bars sitting around if you decide to go with those instead. I would be willing to part with them if you are interested.

Looks to me like you could just reroute the brake line maybe behind the triple tree and have enough slack in it to use the nostalgia.

Hey Jetmechanic,

The Big Johnson bar does go down to a 1" diameter at the risers.

The risers are different from 1999-2003 vs 2004 and up. With my 2003, I was able to use the stock risers and clamps. Not sure of the exact difference between the model years, but I do know that pre-2004 they were a separate clamp for each riser.

BTW I still have stock lines.

Hope that helps a bit.

I have the Nostalgia bars on my 05 and the stock lines worked ok but, a little too tight for my taste and I switched to 2" over. which I ordered from Phats. (they said 2-3 weeks it took 5 Barrnetts fault not Phats)
My friend got the Big Johnsons and they worked just fine with his "batwing" stock 05 risers no problems.
FYI

So, you think that I can use the big johnson bars with the stock '05 risers? Or I can use the nostaliga bar with the stock cables/lines?

Yes and Yes But, I would recommend upgrading to 2" over cables. Personal preference.
