Jack Stands 5 Years, 11 Months ago
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering what kind of jack stands would work on my
06 Silverado, and where to buy them. Also does Lemon Pledge
really work for detailing or is this some kind of joke? It
seems to me that putting spray wax on the windscreen would
impair your vision, or perhaps turn the plastic yellow after
a while.
Thanks
Denny

Never used Jack Stands. Maybe someone else here has.

I use a motorcycle jack which works real well. Mine has position locks that keep it in the air, and pressure off the jack itself. All the weight gets carried by the frame.

Thanks Gram,
What kind of jack do you have? I'm looking for something that
will make it easier to change oil, clean whitewalls, ect. Ive
seen the jackstands that you hook under your wheel spindle and
then pull down on a lever arm, but figured that the Road Star
would be too heavy for them. I think I would be better off with
a jack but cant justify $300.00 for a jack right now. The price
of the bike, Nebraska sales tax, Ins. The better half said that
all I was getting for B-days and X Mas for the next two years was
a Big Bow to put on the Bike. Looks like I need to sign up for some
Overtime at work. The bad thing about that is it cuts into my riding
time. Kind of a Catch 22.

Thanks Musky,
I think I can swing that one without any problem.
What year is your Silverado? It looks just like my 06
except for the pocket on the bags. Did you add that on
yourself?

You're welcome Denny. Mine is a 06 too. Those aren't the stock Silverado bags.

Denny...

I've been using Lemon Pledge on the bike ever since I got it. I don't use it on the windshield though. It works great on the paint and chrome though. Bugs just wipe right off.

Where abouts in NE do you live? I grew up in Beatrice and lived in Lincoln for a few years before moving to OK. Yeah I know...what's a Husker doing living in Sooner country. Still routing for the Huskers is what I'm doing! And I know that any year now they will be back in the running for national champs!!

That's a good jack stand that Musky pointed you to. I need to get one myself.

Ride safe my friend....greeny

Greeny,
I live in Omaha. Was Born in Humboldt, lived in Table Rock untill I was 5
then moved to Omaha. Now I cant wait to get out of here, the Mountains are
calling me. I just love Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, any of them would do.

Sounds like you need to go with me and some buds on a trip then! We're leaving out of Tulsa on 8/5 for Sturgis. We're spending a few days there then heading west through MT for Yellowstone. South through WY, ID and UT then back east though CO. Eventually we might make it back to Tulsa. We'll be out for about 2 weeks and over 3K miles.

Let me know if you're interested. The more the merrier!
