The + karma is a way to give a bump more or less to someone who has helped you out. Just another way of saying thanks. The - is a way to smack someone if you think they did you wrong. I can't see that happening here but it might happen. Just remember that the minus is on the left and the plus is on the right. It's easy to take karma away when you meant to give it.
