You work on the road, or just out enjoying life?

Mostly business but I get to enjoy part-time.

I'm in Portland tonight and hope to see some of the downtown tomorrow night; otherwise I'm SOL.

Hello everyone,

I have been posting a bit.. thought maybe it was time for intro.

I have been riding since about 1974, first bike was a Yamaha XS650 twin. Traded that in on a Triumph Bonneville (I wish I still had that one .. electrical problems and all ).. and have had many other bikes also. Mostly sportbikes... with the occasional dirt bike thrown in. Las bike I had prior to my R* was a Honda F4I 600 that my then new wife made me sell when she found out I like speed! She recently divorced me.. so I got myself another bike.. my Roadie. I wrenched for Yamaha for a while just out of High School in a small town shop... been a while, but still enjoy it.

I wanted something I could ride for more than a couple of hours without hurting.. and carry some gear on it. I had originally purchased a used Vstar 1100 that had major problems (had it two months.. only ran one month).. took it back to the dealer, and traded it in on my Star which only had 1390 miles on it. I love it.. it handles great.. has adequate power and is very comfortable. Plus lots of neat things to do to it! What are toys for?

I am currently self employed (Systems Engineer). Thinking about moving though... to get away from this area for reasons mentioned above. Any suggestions? !

Thanks... I have really been enjoying the forum... great bunch!

Move from Colorado???

Mountains, fresh air ..... are you crazy.

When I retire, I'd like to move out west to the mountain area.

Hey Doc,

You forgot to mention EX-Wives! ! And WAY too many SLOW tourists!

If I can find work in CO, I will probably stay. Dont know! I am also not looking forward to starting up my business "Computer PRO" in yet another town or state. Will probably take a regular job if I can find one. I have long considered the Pacific Northwest... might head that way.

Which part of the PNW, Charlie? Be advised that around Seattle the cost of living is outrageous, the traffic sucks and the people (other than bikers, that is) aren't very open and friendly. I live a few miles from Microsoft and new houses are "cheap": $900,000 and up. Rush hour traffic on the freeway goes from 3:00 to 7:30 sometimes. And there are lots of ex-wives here, too! Well, maybe not yours. he he he

That being said, here in Western Washington we have some great riding country and unbeatable scenery. You just have to get 5-10 miles out of the city to be in R* heaven. (I know, the expression is "hog heaven" but I didn't think it would fit here. )

Bellingham is a whole different story. Smaller college town, without all the suburbs. Less traffic and probably much lower housing costs. A bit colder in the winter.
