Man, I love this "on the bike" carb work. Put my 35 pilot back in and while I was in there, I dropped the needle down to the 3rd notch from top ...from the 4th. Much better, I have a little smoother idle now, the PMS adjusted nicer too. Now I'm gonna have to FORCE myself to ride a hundred miles or so and check the mileage. Guess somebody has to do it.

Just an FYI - To fine tune the needle if you need it put a second washer under it but leave it in the 3rd groove.

Better mileage today. Took it out for 3 hrs. with the new settings, 50/50 city, highway..hard driving and interstate cruising. 45.4 mpg I'm leaving it alone! Good enuf for me....gained around 10 - 12 mpg's in 2 days from tinkering.

I hear ya BB... since I hit the big 4-0, I cant stay in the saddle as long How the heck does your body know this. b.t.w. I havent seen those numbers in a long time so I hit the road again this evening....bout' the same 44.6 m.p.g. Hope I can leave well enuf alone.
