need some help 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I started removing my stock exhaust and i have to remove the old exhaust bracket. In doing so, I partially stripped one of the 8mm allen screws. Any suggestions on how to get this out.

Use a dremel and slot it, then put a pen torch on it to heat it and give it a go.

I've cut flat side on the head of the bolt and used vise grips too. Both will work.

this two screws are recessed it will be hard to get in there. They actually hold the bracket for the exhaust. not the two that hold the exhaust in place

let me go out and look........those are going to be tough. I have tried easy outs, but not with alot of success. I would still try to slot them as much as you can use a standard screw driver. I stripped one on my floor boards because I used a standard allen socket on a metric bike. Pretty brite of me. My bolt head extend just beyond the bracket, but barely. Not compeletly recessed.

Use a hammer and a cold chisel and split the nut in half. You will have to get a new nut and bolt but you can find metric bolts and nut at auto stores, Home Depot, Lowes and hardware stores.

Sorry I dont have a magic answer for you. One of my only disappointments with the Roadie is the quality of the bolts and screws they use. I have found them all to be very soft.
