Here's another pic of the lights painted red. And I won't ask you to check out my rear end. Ever!

Wouldn't painting the lenses make then less bright? I ordered red replacement lenses when I bought my RTB controller. Kury makes them.

Not if you use the right paint. I bought paint specifically made for this. These are my stock clear lenses with the paint.

I tried ordering the red lenses from Kury but every time I try to order anything from them they are out of stock. So I had to find another way of doing it. I thnk Pop Rivet did his with Krylon paint from the local store. Can't remember which paint though

OK, I know this has probably been talked about before, but, why would anyone spend 80 bucks on a Kury RTB controller, other than it's easy to install, when a trip to Wally world can get you a trailer RTB controller for 13 bucks? Simple to wire in and works very well. It's completely waterproof, too.

Just curious.

for me it was because it was a simple snap in. I'm comfortable with most things with a bike but wiring isn't one I wanted to butcher up. I saw the cheaper RTB controllers that you solder in but I didn't want to deal with it.

I had to buy the paint to do my tail light anyway so I actually came out ahead. Hope CC comes through for you. I stopped ordering from them a few years ago.

I did get the red lenses from cc ok...

and used clear bulbs...use 1156 and file one of the lower nibs for the newer bikes..bright and clear...

in painting my tailight like musky did.. I used Krylon tranlucid stained glass paint..from a local crafts store

I prefer clear bulbs and red turnsignal lenses rather than colored bulbs and clear lense but both work fine...just a better day time presence with the red lenses...
