Rear brake locking 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago

After installing those Cobra highway bars, I thought I'd take the Roadie out for a spin. A couple of miles later I notice the bike lugging down in any gear, and when I stopped it felt as if the rear brake was already engaged. It was. My foot pedal was stuck. I reached down and physically pulled it back up, pumped it a little until it felt free, and rode the rest of the way home with just the front brakes.
Getting home, the rear brake smelled pretty hot. I waited a few hours and tried again. This time it took about four miles before it did it again.
I had the foot pedal off the frame when I was installing the Cobra bars, but was very careful. Nothing's kinked. I don't know what I would have done just installing the bars. Thanks for anything you can recommend.

No it isn't. It does tap the header pipe when it's fully released, but it isn't touching anything when I depress it. I'm stumped Curt.
Edit: Could I have done something moving the master cylinder around a little while playing with the floorboard?

Is the brake line touching the pipe?

No, it isn't touching the pipe. It's running along the frame tube. I cut the cable tie holding the line to the frame closest to the valve assembly to give me some wiggle room while I was moving the floorboard around a bit, and tied it again to the frame afterwards. The line is where it should be.

I would start by double checking your assembly. Maybe put something back in the wrong order or over tightened something?

That's the problem, Musky. I only tightened the floorboards after installing the Cobra bar. Nothing else.
Edit: By the way, I mentioned the brake assembly is touching the header pipe - it's the mechanical part of it that hits the pipe when I release the foot pedal. The armature. Making a nice little nick (very small) on that little part of the pipe too.
The thing is, I can step on the pedal a number of times and it works fine before and after I free it manually. I can't make it stick when the bike is sitting idling or when it's off.
Could moving the reservoir and valve (still attached to the floorboard) have done anything?

I never installed the cobra bars but don't they use the floorboard mounting bolts? You must have changing something there if it wasn't doing it before.

Yeah, it attaches to the floorboard, but only to the front-most bolt with a spacer for the rear bolt (longer bolts were included). That's all I worked on.
