MC Enterprises Engine Guard - a little help? 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago

OK, so I'm one of those people who get bugged by small details. I installed the MC Enterprises MC1000-35 engine guard on my '05 Silverado. Looks great and all, but the forward right-hand corner of the brake petal juuuuuust touches the bar when depressed. I also have to be conscious about my toe position on the shift side, so I don't get into the bar.
Now, I think I have a possible "adjustment" I could make involving adding a short piece of flat bar to each side where the engine guard bottom mounts to the bike frame.
Getting long-winded. The short of it is, does anyone know where I might get some high-polished (or reasonably polished) stainless steel flat bar?
Home Depot has nothing good. What I've seen online is rolled or flat finish.
Looking for 1-1/4" X 1/4" thick. Only need a couple of feet of it for experimentation's sake.

Did you try contacting MC to see if this is a common issue? Maybe they can tell you something.

Around here, there are a few scrap metal places that will sell...they scap out commercial food processors and end up with a lot of good stainless.........cheap.....

Not yet. I recently called the folks who made my seat pad because the hold-down clamps don't fit our stock seat. They were clueless. So I fixed the problem by removing their clips and putting a 1" parachute clip on. Now I just clip the straps together under the seat. Sent them pictures of the fix, and the owner e-mailed me bag thanking me profusely.
Maybe I will give MC a call...just in case I can fix the issue for them.

Ran into a problem like this on a different bike, after a half hour of trying to decide what to do I just took the brake pedal off, put it in the vise and bent it about 1/8" to 1/4" and problem solved. But I would check all other avenues before you do that, I am just impatient and have to many tools.

Thought about that, too. Also thought about scoping a brake pedal from another bike that might work.

I have a brake pedal off a V1100 classic. It's about 2 3/4 by 1 3/4. Direct replacement. Take the stock pedal off the arm and put the other one on.

That's what I have too, it's probably an inch shorter than the stock... Went back and read your post again, sounds like the right outer edge is hitting the bars.. if that's the case then Musky's v1100 will work for you..........look at my profile pic and you can see it better, the floor board sticks out further than the pedal...
