Side Cover Thoughts 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I've seen a few folks going to the chrome side covers, but I've been kicking around another thought I wanted to run past folks with more experience. I have the two-tone (beach sand-silver) 2005 Silverado, and I was thinking it might look nice to get side covers off a Midnight Star and remove the emblems. The idea is that by blacking out the side covers, they might blend in with the frame and seat, making the "V" configuration of the engine and all that chrome stand out more.

I guess it would look something like:

I like it......a lot.

How about just painting the ones that are on the bike?

Too each his own, if thats what you like, then you should do it For me, it makes the bags and seat kind of run together. But then again, I do not care for the chrome either. I like the color of yours the way they are. JMO. Good luck with your choice.

Depending on if you're willing to wait a little while, I have a Midnight and I'm planing on getting some SS side covers and painting them black. Mine would be up for grabs at that time. It's gonna be a few months though, because my money is going into getting that springer on.

I have the same color scheme

Thought about chrome ...

I like the beach sand metallic..... it ties in the fenders and tank... I think black would break up the visual flow and chop up the native bike color... too much

But putting black on it will make it faster! Ever wonder why race cars are black? I don't make this up!

I've got the same paint scheme too. The black covers look cool to me. It's different and would set your bike apart from the rest a little.

Bottom line though is if you like the look.

I've thought about maybe carrying the liquid silver two-tone scheme onto the covers like on the tank.
