Stock for now. I really like the look of the HK 2-1 Sideburner, but I'm concerned they might be a bit loud (from what I've read). V&H 2-1 Pro Pipe is another option and not as expensive, but I like the look of the HK's better. Of course there are always the stubbies or the short shots to choose from. So many choices, so little money

I always liked the look of the dual exhaust systems and when I had a chance to change mine out I did just that. The sound of the stock Roadie isn't very impressive at all, but drilling them out to whatever stage you find appealing can make them easier to live with. But if you know you're gonna change out your pipes my advice would be to listen to a bunch and decide on the sound rather than the look. After all, you'll be living with the sound the whole time you're riding, but the look only when you're parked.
Now I think I like the sound of my Roadhouse duals even better than the look.

Lots of great answers there, guys. Thanks. I particularly liked getting to see the pipes on your bikes. I really like the looks of the HK 2 into 1. Cobra makes a pro pipe 2 into 1 model I like the looks of as well. For now, though, I've decided to tiptoe in and install a pair of Cobra slip on slash cuts - mostly because I managed to pick up a set new in box for about one-third of retail. The price was right and installation looked fairly simple. (It's not that I can't turn a wrench - it's the getting my big butt down there to do it that's killing me)

rather than start a new thread I wonder if I can add my question to this one. I'm looking at Cobra speedsters, longs, and noticed a testimonial in the J&P website on these pipes. Buddy there says that they don't fit close to the bike and that the header is too small for the exhaust port so it doesn't fit well and is only centred by the clamp. Also the heat shields are held on with cheap hose clamps. Now I'm surprised because I've always been impressed with Cobra's fit and finish. So what do you Cobra pipe people think about these comments?
thanks as always

Hey Heavy
Do everything you an to make sure you seal it up good where they slip on to the head pipes. Slipons can leak at the connection and drive you nuts.

The V & H I have seen, including my propipe have the heat shield held on with hose clamps. I havent had any problems.
