Les Dearborn here
been in the wind since the 70s. Spent 13 years riding a 750 bonnie all over germany and europe. I don't know if it was an up grade or not but then I went to a 750 vulcon, and later to an 1,100 shadow. Then fate really did ask that dizzy blond to run over my shadow in the parking lot, Really. Now a 2000 roadie with samson slip ons, rev master module, hyper charger, jetted carb, fliped the dog bone and lowered 3"(nice since the good lord built my ass close to the ground), canned the AIS, ported the intake, 3" riser with tach, moved the fuel pump and filter. Yep she's clean, mean and a dream to drive. BUT, Yall know that already. Most all the MODs have been after reading this forum. I would like to thank all of you and I hope that I can offer and contribute to the brothers and sisters to come.

Welcome Les.

Another ex-Shadow rider here, but I parted with mine under more pleasant circumstances.

I did, I was the vehicle maintenance manager on an air force base. I made sure she walked for a long time. You know protecting my brotherin's bikes. I wasn't going to do that till she said daddy will take care of it just like the last time.

question guys' I read several articles about lowering your windshield. Yep, sounded great and easy to do, so I did it. Came out great, but now I'm wondering what was I thinking? Can you guys tell me the benifits that are eluding me?

Can't help you there. I would like mine to be a little taller. I usually only have mine on when it's cold enough that I want to block the wind. So I want as much protection as I can get without being in my site line.
