HELP....No power to starter button. 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I have a 2005 Roadstar and have never had any problems with it. For some reason I have no power to the starter button. I checked the fuses in the fuse box and they are good. When I turn the key on,the bike powers up but when I push the starter button...nothing. The lights and horn work. I do not get the clicking noise I usually get when I turn the key on. I thought it might be the starter button but I don't get anything when I try to bypass the button with a wide blade screw driver. Anyone got any suggestion? Thanks

The clicking noise, of course, is the fuel pump. Just off the top, you're in neutral gear, kickstand down, etc.? How old is your battery?

Yep, watched a guy wall around our bikes at a diner flipping the kill switches just to watch people when they tried to start their bikes.

Like I said in another post, I call the kill switch the "gotcha" switch. One of my grandkids accidently tripped it when he was touching the grips and handlebar when I was away elsewhere. Took me about 30 seconds to realize what had happened later on.

Actually you won't have power to the start button if the kill switch is flipped...but by now and from everyone's responses I'm sure you have checked that.

It happened to me a while back, running down the interstate at 80 she just up and died. I coasted to a stop on the shoulder, took off all of my gear got the tools out and started trying to figure it out. Ended up I had hit the switch with my heavy gloved fingers...duhhhhh!!!!
