Preferred engine guards? 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Thinking about adding some engine guards. My bike had some on it when I bought it, but they rattled and the chrome was cheap looking. They were definitely the weak link. I took them off after a few months.

Any suggestions for quality chrome and tight installtation?

Thanks in advance.

I have the Yamaha big bar engine guards and I love the look and quality of them. Would really recommend them. Good price also...

There's several good ones out there but I have the Yami big bar also and like it very much.

I have the MC Enterprises 1000-35 bar and like it also. Well made. I would say this, though. If you plan on doing anything with the bar, like adding chaps or what-not, make sure they are available for the bar you have. The Yami Big Bar seems to be the most accommodated by the accessory folks. Baron has a popular bar, too.

I have the Cobra Fatty bars. It was between those and the Yami Big Bars. Nice retro look. My .02

The big bar...

Thick 3/8 plate attachment to frame...and heavy guage tub stock....

others I have seen just fasten to the floor board mounts with thin 1/4 plate...and are made from lighter guage stock

If you ever plan on putting floorboard extensions on that will limit your choices.

Oh, yeah, forgot that one...and funny, because that's the one I'd most like to have on my bike.
