Craftsman Motorcycle Jack!! 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago   At one time I wanted a hydraulic lift but with the luck that I've had with Chinese hydraulics I decided not to. What I ended up with was a lever lift. Basically slides under and you lever the bike up. Only drawback, if you want to call it that, is only one end is up at a time.   Logged     2006 Midnight. Craftsman Motorcycle Jack!! 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago   I ended up buying the "top-o-the-Chinese-line" aluminum one at Harbor Freight on sale for $129 (it killed me that I couldn't get it at $99, but sometimes you gotta bite the bullet ). The rubber in the O-rings felt brittle and looked stringy. To make a long story short, I rinsed the resovoir out, cleaned all parts and other O-rings and coated them with good silicon grease, replaced the bad O-rings (50cents each) coated them with silicon grease and re-assembled the jack. I bought better jack oil, filled the resoivoir and jacked up the Roadie and it works better than new. This is no guarantee that your jack will work like mine or that mine is 100% safe or like new but if the information contained here saves anyone some grief and money, I was worth the time to post. Good Luck, biknski Thanks for the info thats the jack I got I don't really like the way it "sways" when I have my roadie on it but, I do have the lock features which prevent it from coming down if it does fail. As for the swaying mentioned... yes, that unnerved me as well, so I always jack mine up, and lower it onto some treated 6x6 and 4x6 blocks of wood that I have from doing a construction project and my bike is steady as a rock then... up in the air and easy to service the tires and wheels, clean etc..   Logged       The administrator has disabled public write access. #85842 DownTownLB (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 65 Re:Great Deal!! I think the only difference in ANY of the $59-ish jacks are the paint schemes. For that matter, my buddy got one of the aluminum ones like mine at Sears and the only difference were the wheels. China's taking us over one job at a time! Of course they might just help us solve our pesky lil' illegal alien infestation. Craftsman Motorcycle Jack!! 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago   A few observations: 1) I bought my "red" Craftsman jack two years ago and have had no issues. 2) I have always jacked mine from the right side, and I ALWAYS leave the kickstand down, just in case. 3) If you choose a height in between the three (3) lockable settings, then the jack tends to be a bit "wobbly"; but if you use the locked settings properly, i.e., lower the locking arm onto the notch, then release pressure on the jack, the jack tends to be much more stable.   Logged     ---- 2006 Midnight Silverado, MaxFlo Air Kit, Roadhouse Classics 2-1 Pipes: OEM manifold, 190 Main, 37.5 Pilot, Needle (3rd groove, OEM white spacer), Maxmix Pro PMS (2.5 turns out), Accel Pump Duration (1 turn out, nut in front), Float Height (w/carb upside down): 16mm, 43-45 MPG   The administrator has disabled public write access.
