WOW Bummer man
You have already checked everything I would have. I would change the spark plugs though you never know... It can't hurt. You might want to look at your plug wires and coils MAYBE it's arcing to the frame. or sometimes you can break down the carbon fiber in the wires by moving and kinking them.

Good Luck
Steven

You know it almost sounds like its jumped time so on that note maybe your tps is outta wack since the module adjusts timing curve according to the reading from the tps sensor

There is another small filter in the carb fuel inlet.

Definately check the plugs ... you may have one bad one.

Well, the problem has gotten worse, but that may be a good thing as far as troubleshooting goes.

After getting home yesterday I took the battery to BatteriesPlus and had them load test it. Guy that did the test said the battery is good and that it should last one, if not two more seasons. Got home and tried to start the bike, just to see what it would do and how it would run. Fired right up, ran good for about 10-15 seconds and died. Tried to restart it and nothing; just crank, crank, crank........

Rechecked the fuel line and carb and put in new plugs and tried to start it again. And again, nothing..... Just crank, crank, crank.....

Pulled the plugs one at a time, put the cap back on, touched the plug to ground and hit the starter; nothing....No fire from any of the plugs.....

So unless all four boots are bad or all four wires are bad or both coils are bad (what are the odds????), I've either got a bad pickup coil or a bad ignitor unit. So that's where I'm at. Haven't had a chance to ohm anything out yet.

Now a question; If it is the ignitor unit that's bad, is this what the Speedstar ignition module and the Dyna 3000 replaces??? If so, is it worth going with either of these over the OEM???? At this point, I'd be happy with a used OEM ignitor (if that's the problem) just to get me back on the road...... So if anyone's got a used laying around I might like to hear from you depending on what I find out.

Trying To Get Back In The Wind,
Aaron

Aaron if you really think it is the igition unit I will send you my old OEM to try and if it turns out not to be you can just send it back. All it will cost is the shipping. That way you will know for sure.
