ttip:

Turn your caps off, seems like shouting in a forum.

The largest tire I have seen mounted in the stock rims is a 180 (NOT low profile). It did not looks as fat as the low profile 180 I had mounted on a 5.5x18 rim.

The biggest I have personally run on the stock rims is a 160.

Gram, although I'm nowhere near needing a tire yet,...does the 160 look alittle better on the backend?

sorry guys, i know this tread is old, but this seems the apporopriate place and time for this Q?.

fatbike, since it's been a while for the mode, what type/brand tire are u using?

I have a meanstreak that uses 17" rims. that is a common sportbike size rim and there are tons of "soft" compound tires readily available. mainly made for a #300 sport bike. my meanie, like our RS, weighs in at ~ #700. I eat up soft compound like crazy on the meanstreak. the cheaper ones ~ 120 bucks, last me 6 months...yuk!

did u find a harder compound tire? if so what brand?
