I have the signal Dynamics modulator. The part I like is if I have the headlight on constant, and I think someone is going to turn or pull out in front of me, I hit the horn and the headlight will flash for two seconds and hopefully get the drivers attention before causing an accident. It will also flash either slower or faster if it's already in modulation mode.

Sorry guys, I've been busy since I made the post. The link takes you to where you decide which type connector you need, and it also will let you choose a 4 or 9 flasher for the brakes.

The headlight modulator has a light sensor (I ran it up and tie-wrapped it to my mirror arm) that allows it to only modulate during the day, and only on high beam. The time when it wasn't flashing is when I flipped it to low beam. Thats one reason why I chose this product; if I am riding with others I can simply put it on low beam and not drive them crazy!

The brake flasher flashes 9X then goes solid, but it has a feature that wont allow it to reset until 30 seconds of no brakes. This way it doesn't keep flashing while in stop&go traffic. If you'll notice when I let off the brake and then squeezed it again it only flashes a few times. I did notice that the longer you stay off the brake before braking again, the more times it will flash.

Here's a link to a review that I found helpful:

With mine, I can turn it on or off just by flipping from high beam to low and back within 1 second. It works either direction. So i can have it on or off in High or Low.

This would apply in the U.S. only of course.

Here's a link to the English version of the Canadian regs. It's on the main page linked to above as well. In French too...

rode over to jekyll island today and passed a few cops...one actually slowed and eventually stopped i just rode on by and he never turned around. i rarely see the modulators round here in south ga, so i imagine the cops are surprised when they see em too

i did have 2 vehicles in front of me slow waaayyy down though. i passed one and the other sped back up so i flipped to low beam and killed the modulation while i rode behind em!

i did notice that people actually noticed me. i felt a lot safer on the roads today

Re:Headlight modulator & brake light flasher 4 Years ago
I've had this same combo Since Sept. of last year. They were simple to install and work like a charm. Safe, easy and affordable.

The wife wanted to take our son to the park one day late last year. Rather than us go all in the same car I had the urge to ride really badly so I took my bike. One the way back I led the way with the wife following on right behind. I had an old man in a car slow way down for me as I approached him from the rear. When the came around him into the turn lane and waited for the signal the wife said he took down my plate numbers. I assume he called the cops thinking I was doing something wrong. Hopefully they clued him in about the federal statue on modulating headlights on motorcycles.

There are more bikes in the metro area who have the kits installed so I believe the LEO around here are aware. Regardless, I do feel like these mods. allow me to be more visible to the folks mindlessly driving along in their cars. If it keeps me from getting smacked just once, the cost was well worth it.

I couldn't agree with ya more Mark7!

Its a catchy thing tho, ridin in traffic with the modulation on. It has to annoy the people in front of you, but you want it goin so folks pullin out onto your road see you. I tried killin it while in traffic and then just flip it on when I seen a vehicle pullin up to my road...i kept forgetting tho

guess i'll eventually get used to it! but it is definitely well worth the little amount of money to be more visible!

Biker...
I get annoyed when folks pull out in front of me, so I figure if they're gonna annoy me I'm gonna return the favor! As a result my headlight modulator stays on ALL the time.

I just know the min. after I switch it off trying to be a "nice guy" for the person in front of me who's having to deal with my light I'll forget to turn in back on and somebody driving a Hummer will run me over at the next intersection because they didn't see me.
