4000 mile service 3 Years, 11 Months ago
I just made an appointment to get my 4000 mile service. I bought it about 1 1/2 months ago and got the oil changed then (had 2000 miles on it then) I'm going to switch to synthetic so I'm ok with changing it again so soon. I guess they are going to change plugs and check the belt but I'm not sure on what else. What else needs to be done at this service, besides make sure everything is tight? Thanks

Look in your owners manual. It lists what gets done in the periodic maintenance chart.

I changed the fuel filter at 4000 just to get any junk out that might sneak into the carb. The Yami filter # is 1FK24560-10-00 if your interested. Yami recommends fuel filter change at 20,000 miles.I feel that is to long with the places you may have to fuel up.

You might consider plugs, these things seem to eat them up. I just had mine changed at the 3000 mile service. Early I know, but I would prefer that to waiting till they go bad. JMO.

so far so good I checked all the things the service manual states, did the plugs at the 12,000 mile service (and they looked like new)if you get the good spray lube and hit all the moving points, you should be good. I left my filter alone all the stations I get gas at have filters on the pumps and if you just check it.. you should be ok.
When I switched to amsoil, I also did the gear drive changed it to synthetic 70/90.
