Corrected - Feedback on Chilhowee Lever Fringes 3 Months, 1 Week ago
Just got'em, took three weeks, but they were behind and told me that.

As someone else stated, they did not fit. Also as someone else stated, they did not answer my e-mail questions.

The tapered end is much to large (overlaps), but they claim they are custom made to each specific model's levers. Paid 29 bucks with shipping.

But, they look great and the leather is nice.

Here's there response I got today:

Hi Ken,
Thanks for contacting us! I'm so sorry to hear that your lever covers don't
fit properly! Chil wanted me to let you know he's not happy with the
template for that bike, and he's going to be redesigning it. We'll issue a
full refund (including shipping costs) to you for these lever covers, and
you can keep or discard the set we sent you. Again, I'm so sorry for this
inconvenience, I know it's disappointing! Please let me know if you have any
questions, or if there's anything else I can do to assist you!

Sincerely,

~Rissy

I asked them to keep my cash and just send the redesign when they get caught up. Thanks to those who prompted me to get back in touch with them!

Ken

Overall, sounds like a company to avoid

I dunno about that. There's a lot of ppl on here that swear by them. I'm one of them. I did hear also ahead of time about their lever covers on the 05 & later models. The ones I ordered, fit my 02 perfectly. And from what it sounds like, if they're too big right now, at least you can trim them yourself. It would be worse if they were too small.

I have a 05 and mine fit PERFECT....wonder if someone mixed up the patterns????

I've called them direct and they have been willing to help....with questions...

I have had positive dealings with them..fork covers, lever fringes, mud flaps, floorboard trim, tank bib,as well as gloves, chaps, vests, jackets ( beautiful soft leather) , for me and the missus....all good so far...

Exactly the same as my experience.

You would have to trim off maybe 3 strings of fringe. Makes what's left pretty sparse.

Just looked at their site and it says they fit all 1700 EXCEPT 06. That seems odd did 06 use different levers?

I got the same answer Last fall. They weren't happy with the template. But that's as far as it went. They stopped responding to me after that. Glad they took care of you.

Musky,

After reading your post, I opted for the refund. I took them off, cut about 1/2" off one side, and repunched matching holes with a leather punch. Now they fit like a dream.
