#96851 BantyRooster (User) JITOW Fresh Boarder Posts: 61 No, it ain't a H**** 3 Years, 11 Months ago   I've been asked to be the point person on selling a custom Harley. 3 guys stopped by to look at it. I had to pull my Roadie out of the garage to get the Harley out. These guys are obvious seasoned die hard Harley riders. One of them turns around to look at my bike, and makes the statement "I sure did love my shovel head." After a few seconds, he looks back a then notices that it's not a Harley, and asks what it is. I tell him that it's a Yamaha Road Star. He says, "nice bike" and then returns his focus on the bike they're looking at. I just thought it humorous, and that you all might get a chuckle from this. Just another one of those cases of mistaken identity! My friend asks me if I'm ashamed or embarrassed that its a Yamaha. I tell him no. I purposely want people to judge the bike on its merits, not by preconceived opinions of a "jap bike". I did. Shut it down and he called out a couple more guys and asked me to fire it up again. I to have taken off my yami stickers and such for the same reasons as Mr Cancilla. Love the look guys give when I tell them its a Yamaha. I did it as part of my customizing, making the bike unique. I have the road star emblems off the side of the tank... Got stopped by a state trooper about 5 miles from my house last summer.. For speeding. He just wrote me a warning ticket.. When i got home and looked at the ticket closer he wrote that it was a H**** that he stopped.. had a good laugh over that one. Just wondering how you get the Yamaha emblem off the back fender.. I would like to take it off.. I've taken all my stickers off, I haven't been able to bring myself to debadge the tank yet.
