No, it ain't a H**** 3 Years, 11 Months ago
I've been asked to be the point person on selling a custom Harley. 3 guys stopped by to look at it. I had to pull my Roadie out of the garage to get the Harley out. These guys are obvious seasoned die hard Harley riders. One of them turns around to look at my bike, and makes the statement "I sure did love my shovel head." After a few seconds, he looks back a then notices that it's not a Harley, and asks what it is.

I tell him that it's a Yamaha Road Star. He says, "nice bike" and then returns his focus on the bike they're looking at.

I just thought it humorous, and that you all might get a chuckle from this. Just another one of those cases of mistaken identity! Hmmmmm

Rooster.

It happens to me almost every time I'm on the thing...of course mine is a little different as I have no yami labels what so ever. My friend asks me if I'm ashamed or embarrassed that its a Yamaha. I tell him no. I purposely want people to judge the bike on its merits, not by preconceived opinions of a "jap bike". Plus I love the jaw dropping when they find out what it really is after they where just spouting off how much they love it!

Yes just the other day I took my bike in to get a bid on a paint job
$2800.00) I might add. anyways the guy came out and asked what it was and said when I was on the street he could have sworn it was a harley just from the sound, he proceeded to call out a couple of his buddies and asked me to fire it up. I did. Shut it down and he called out a couple more guys and asked me to fire it up again. I to have taken off my yami stickers and such for the same reasons as Mr Cancilla. Love the look guys give when I tell them its a Yamaha. Fifty Yet

I've also taken the stickers off. I did it as part of my customizing, making the bike unique. I also happen to like the cleaner look of no stickers.

I got a good one on that line.. I have the road star emblems off the side of the tank... Got stopped by a state trooper about 5 miles from my house last summer.. For speeding. He just wrote me a warning ticket.. When i got home and looked at the ticket closer he wrote that it was a H**** that he stopped.. had a good laugh over that one. Just wondering how you get the Yamaha emblem off the back fender.. I would like to take it off.. Mine gets mistakin for a H**** all the time.. lol

I bought my Roadie with the emblems off the sides of the tanks. I get asked all the time what kind of Harley it is. I tell them it's a Yama-Davidson * Capt.Kirk

To get the Yami sticker off the rear fender, just a blow dryer and get it nice and toasted up, it shouold just peel off and any adhesive left over you can rub with your finger it'll come off. I've taken all my stickers off, I haven't been able to bring myself to debadge the tank yet. We'll see.
