Re:Motorcycle Lift 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I got the Harbor Freight one you linked to... it works alright for a lot of odds and end work...But, I don't use it to change my oil with because theres no way to get my oil pan under the drain plugs on that lift...
A WORD OF CAUTION ABOUT ALL JACKS: Make sure the valve that lets the bike down is not too sensitive!
The Harbor Freight one has a very sensitive release valve and the jack comes down real fast!
I special ordered their 1000 Lb. Capacity Air Hydraulic Motorcycle Lift (it sells in the store for $389.00)

The lift you link to is also on sale in the store for $59.99 through the end of July...
If I were going to buy only one lift (jack)... I'd get the Harbour Frieght all aluminum one (Yeah, it's $160... But, it's niiice!)

I purchased one from Kragen Auto Parts. $49.95+tax on Fathers day. I have used it a couple of times already. Works great for me. I am able to get to both oil bolts with proper placement. My .0002 worth. Capt.Kirk

I, like Starcruiser, have a Harbor Freight special. And yes it seems to race gravity to the floor especially when your bike is involved. Guess you get what you pay for sometimes. But it works for me. Next time I'll do a little more research.

+something on the Craftsman...use it regularly with no problems...very tough for oil changes though as the cross members block access to drain plugs...but overall a great value...I paid $59+tax on sale.

The RED Craftsman jack they have on their website has anything but favorable reviews.. Seems it's a piece o' junk. Looks like most of these guys have the yellow one.

I think I am going to bite the bullet and get either the Panther, linked previously, or a Direct Lift.

easy to use on the majority of cruisers, and perfect for lowered bikes.

I have the Red Craftsman, and have been very satisfied with it. I do not use it to change oil, no access, but it is great to get the bike up a little when I am tinkering, and it is vital when removing a wheel. I always raise it enough to lock out so it is not relying on the hydrualic cylinder to hold it up.
