Erizo,

Long time no see! Did you ever figure out the problem on your bike that you were wrestling with a month or two ago?

yep got it sorted.

after much head scratching it turned out to be something quite simple.

where the 3 block connectors go into the c.d.i. unit, the loom makes the wires to the bottom connector (coils) bend at quite an angle. this caused some chafing right where the wires enter the connector and caused a short. a bit of extra insulation and some rubber to protect and it was sorted.

i´d reccommend having a quick look see if your wires are chafing in the same spot if you´re in the area of the c.d.i unit, cos 330kgs is a hell of a lot of weight to push!

Glad to hear you sorted things out. Guess that means you weren't able to talk the wife into a Dyna 3000, though!

Seems like it's always the simple stuff that causes most of the problems. I'll check my wiring next time I'm in there. I was lucky, though. A buddy had a brand new Dyna 3000 spare after he go a SpeedStar ignition via warranty work. I ended up with the Dyna for cheap!

i´ll be tearing the bike down for paint and a tart up this winter (first time not riding in the winter), `cos i might be getting round to getting my leg fixed and unable to ride for a few weeks. might see if i can sneak a dyna in whilst i´m doing it
