god looks after dummies 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
so i am lucky i get to ride my bike to work when i want to, so every other week i roll it into the store into the aircondition, to clean & tighten things, so today i have the front wheel in the door, i look down and notice the foot rest on the crash bar is not the same as the other side, so i reach up with my foot to bump it up a little, my shoelace caught on it and i was leaning over, ooops, luckily the post caught the bag and stoped the bike from falling all the way over, i looked around embarassed but no one saw me, so when your on your bike, watch out for those dang shoelaces

Guess that ranks right up there with forgetting to put your feet down at a stoplight.

about 10 years back I bought a new Suzuki RF900. I got a ride and picked it up on my way to work. Wouldn't you know it started raining, HARD! Everyone was coming up to me telling me not to wreck it on my hour long ride home in the rain. I thought man if they don't shut up they are going to jinx me. All the way home I was thinking about it. Well I rounded the corner by my house, hit the garage door opener and drove in. I sat on the bike a minute or two thanking the Lord I made it home safe. When I got off the bike started to go, I forgot to put the kickstand down Thankfully I caught it before it hit the ground.

I must admitt to having stopped at a bank drivein and leaned the bike to the left without having put the stand down! The grip and clutch lever hit the wall and stopped it. I was able to pull it upright and the only damage (except to my pride) was a scratch on the end of the clutch lever.
One thing I have seen someone else do is start off with the steering locked. The bike lurched to the left, fell to the right, and launched him over the handlebar straight ahead.

Boots doesn't necessaraly mean anything. there are pull on types and lace types and combo types. I have boots that are laced and have a zipper on the side so that you don't have to tie and untie them.

Are you suppose to put your feet down at a stop light? Gotta try that.

My first big bike was an old school '61 HD Chopper. Feeling like a stud I pulled into my first big biker bash. So busy looking where to park I didn't realize I had pulled onto a gravel drive. Boom, down I go. Throttle cable jams wide open, bike's on top of me, front pipe breaks off at the jug, couldn't find the kill switch. Guess who became the instant center of attention. Took three guys to get the bike off of me cause we couldn't get traction in the gravel. Got a big lesson in humility, found out how nice (understanding) fellow bikers can be, and had one hell of a loud and dramatic ride home with flames coming out of my cylinder heads.

in my early riding day's(crotch rocket) i found my self next to a Hooters bus at a stop light. Well as you can imagine i was not really lookin straight ahead at the light and is what i failed to notice was the bus is in a turn lane, so when the bus started to roll i figured i would pop the clutch and bring her front end up a little, well i was not in a turn lane and came with in a hair of slamming into the car in front of me. no injury but i sure felt like a horses...
