Cruise in 5th if maintaining over 60 mph. You have convinced me that my Roadstar is operating normally, and I will ride it accordingly. However...The design of the engine does suggest that the owner's manual shift points should be correct. Platinum Boarder Posts: 1518 Re:Bucking engine when torquing at low revs... 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago   There are several old threads related to shift points, but I am of the opinion still that the shift points listed in the owner's manual are great if you like lugging the engine and replacing fouled spark plugs weekly. Then what would you do? If you use the numbers given for km/h for mph instead it isn't too bad. My bike has a tach and 2000rpm gets 20,30,40,50,60 going thru the gears. These engines love it at and above 2000 rpm. We have had a couple of people say that they think there aught to be a 6th gear. What would you do with it?
