this may be a dumb question but if i want to put a tubeless tire on my 03 doi just put the tire on with a tube or are tubless and tube tires incompatible as far as using a tube in a tubeless? i want to use cruisemax or avon but the only ones i see are tubeless sorry for my dumbness lol

Not dumb. Just stick the tube in and ride! Tubeless or tubed , it'll be fine. BB
