At home under the flat screen!

Only music I want is exhaust and wind. 40 years of that, working construction and on more than a few race cars and motorcycles and that explains why I don't have a stereo on mine. I couldn't hear it if you taped it to my head.

I thought Java was running 6 speakers (4 in the fairing and 2 in the pods by the tour pack). Most car stereos are 4x50w (200w total). I thought stereos supported only 4 speakers and if you wanted more, you needed an amp. Not an auto audiophile, so I don't know, it was just my understanding. Correct me if I'm wrong.

you are correct... and incorrect. Yes I have 6 speakers. and Yes stereos have channels and are designed to support 4. But some advice I got from another forum on Motorcycle audio says the Front should always dominate the back on a bike. so I wired the front outside speakers to front leads and the two inside speakers to the back leads... and the rear speakers to the back leads. Sound is great and is actually too loud at top level without any distortion. Other bikes around me can hear the stereo. So this way the power is split and reduces the intensity of the 6 1/2" speakers in the rear. Worked out great for me.

I might add that another reason for avoiding the amp for me was the power drain. I didnt want to upgrade the charging system. amps have a huge power draw. With passing lamps and the stereo I was concerned when I put on the trunk with the additional lighting. I have replaced the 1157 blubs at the rear with LED blubs. LED's with a 1157 base. (available at autozone) brought my power draw back to acceptale levels.

Uniq Cycles sell some pretty decent waterproof speakers and a real small 150watt amp. I put the amp under my seat where the (bike factory) tool bag is usually mounted. Used the rubber mount. Works great. I can hear the music up to 70 MPH with Vance and Hines Powershots. www.uniqcycles.com
