Floorboard Pegs

 

Materials:

JC Whitney

Chrome-plated Adjustable-mount Fold-up Foot Pegs, Any Style

 

 

Pair ZX064282U $24.99

 

Home Depot

¼ inch square tubing, 3 ft piece $4.25

 

 

Bolts

2 - 10/32in x 1in 1 1/4in bolts with screw head with nylon ring nut (for each side)

1 - ¼ in x 1in bolt with nylon ring nut (for each side)

 

Instructions:

 

Remove floorboard pad.

Measure width of floorboard (approx. 4in) and length of peg from JC Whitney from nut into peg (approx. 1 ½ in).

Cut square pipe 5 ½ in long.

 

 

Drill 2 - 10/32in holes to attach to existing holes in floorboard.

Drill 1 - ¼in hole for peg bolt.

Attach cut square pipe with 2 bolts under floorboard.

 

 

Attach peg with bolt.

 

Results:

Are You sure you don't mean 1/2 inch square tube? Kinda hard to drill a 1/4 hole in 1/4 tubing. Not trying to be a smart a$$ because I bought some pegs just to do this mod and my square stock that attaches the pegs to the u clamps is at least 1/2 inch. Just wanna make sure I'm looking at this right. Thanks, Chris

am so glad i came here. have 03 1600 road star and have crashbars on it but don't like the highway peg's. competition accessories.com has heelrest and they start at 427.99 two 500.00.your Idea is great and will work. thank you 8)
